Weekly Quotes To Ponder 2

Hello, people of the internet! Time for our weekly quote reflections. I’m so excited to write and share my thoughts about this quote:

My professor in Economics once told us that ‘human wants is insatiable’ and I do agree with him. When a man is discontent, he wants more, more, and more. His desire can never be satisfied and hence he will never feel happiness.

Happiness is a mental or emotional state of well-being defined by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.

I do believe that the real key to happiness is contentment. When one is contented with what he have, he would make the most of it because he do understand that what he got is all he ever need. It’s natural that if someone is satisfied with something, tendencies are to feel appreciative and elated. Thus, all positive thoughts and gestures follows. Smiles will be sweeter, faces will be radiant, and kindness will overflow.

We don’t really need to chase happiness because it is actually a choice, it comes from within us and it’s a gift from God. For me, simple things can make me happy, seeing my children smiling and knowing that they’re doing well with their life is just an example. How about you? What makes you happy? Are you making the most of what you have in this life? I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment.

Writing for me is not merely to express my thoughts and feelings but more to share a part of my soul. The moment I begin to type a word and share my deepest thoughts and wildest dream is a moment I believe I have lived and it clearly defines my worth. Writing for me is like breathing, I just can’t live a day without it.

That’s it for now, until next Wednesday!

Longer Than Forever

How I wish I could be in two places at one time so I can be with you…

I wanna feel the warmth of your touch, the softness of your lips in my forehead, and your breath in my ears while you whisper my name.

I miss the simple things that we do together, like movie marathons, walking along our village holding hands, playing scrabbles, and cuddling each other in bed before going to sleep.

Run your fingers through my soul.

For once, just once, feel exactly what I feel…

It’s been about twenty nine months, and thirteen days since you left and the waiting seems longer than forever…

Stuck On Him

My mind keeps on telling me those things over and over again but my heart won’t listen. Seeing the truth in front of my very face that he doesn’t love me anymore and loving him unconditionally is like a thug of war that I must deal with every single moment of my life.

“You didn’t loved her. You just didn’t want to be alone. Or maybe she made you feel better about your miserable life back then. But now that you’re out of the mess and your life is great, you’re treating her like a trash.”

I’ve read a lot of sad love stories, have heard a lot of sad love songs, have known stories of broken hearts, and have seen how people separate lives after a lost love. I must be familiar, I must relate, and I must know how to handle this by now. But believe it or not, I am worse than a novice. Is it fear or is it still love that won’t let go? I am beyond desperate to find the answer to my questions. Questions that I’ve been asking ever since I’ve felt him slowly drifting away from me.

I can live without him but I cannot see myself with someone else… but I believe that in time I will know when to hold on and when to let go…

The Choice I’ve Made

I must admit, I am not a result-oriented person. But it feels great to accomplish something that I never thought I can.

Philosophy is one of my favorite subject in college and one of the most interesting topic we had was about ‘Existentialism’.

Existentialism is a philosophy that emphasizes individual existence, freedom and choice. It is the view that humans define their own meaning in life, and try to make rational decisions despite existing in an irrational universe.

I could still remember, we had a debate that day. Our professor wrote these two sentences:

I Live My Life or My Life is Lived

In Philosophy, no answer is incorrect. So whatever we choose, we need to take our stand in the topic. From the meaning of the word, Existentialism, well I guess you have an idea which one I chose.

Free-will is one of the greatest gift that God bestowed to humans. He gave us the chance to choose between good or bad; right or wrong. But of course, whatever choices we make in this life, we have to face the consequences.

Let me share these verses in the Bible:

If I am going to sum up the verses above, I would conclude that God Almighty is really the author of compassion. He doesn’t want us to perish, so He gave us an idea that even though bad or evil is part of the option we should choose good so that we may live a life.

Erhyn’s OOTD

How do you define OOTD (Outfit of the day)? For most people, it is defined as clothes or outfits they wear on a particular day or occasion.

While some people would wear something in a particular occasion even though they’re not comfortable, my eldest daughter, Erhyn would definitely find a wardrobe that would not only compliment a certain occasion but would also make her feel comfortable while wearing it.

In life’s journey, we all make choices. And whatever choices we make will shape our present and our future. Looking at some of my daughter’s OOTD photos made me realize how time flies and how a thirteen year old could make a decision on her own. Sometimes, I am afraid of the choices that she make in her life. What if it is not the right thing, what if the outcome is not good, there are so many if’s I have in mind.

Then it dawned on me that I’ve been there in that situation and with God’s help and mercy, I was able to survive. All I need to do is guide her, support her the best way I can, and make her feel that no matter what will happen, be it good or bad, we,  as her parents would always be her number one fan.

Life is all about making choices.
Always do your best to choose the right ones,
always do your best to learn from the wrong ones.

What Meets The Eye

When I was in high school I always thought that I am just a plain teenager, when I look at the mirror and see my face I always say to myself that I am not beautiful. And since no boy seems to notice me or make an impression that they like me, I am convinced that I am not adorable.

We’re six siblings – two boys and four girls. I used to believe that my three sisters are far more beautiful. I am not jealous with their looks, I am just aware that most people would notice them first and would compliment them and when it comes to me, they would just shrug a shoulder or just pass me by. But believe it or not, I have never felt any insecurities with them. 11137924_363168747215087_1281844690_n

I am the eldest and I am very close with my three younger sisters. I wouldn’t say that I am a perfect older sister but I believe that I was able to perform the role of being a responsible and supporting sister. And with that being said, I gained their respect, trust, and loyalty. Whenever I’m in a difficult situation, may it be financially or emotionally, I’m sure that they will never refuse to lend a helping hand.

What’s really interesting to share is that even though I thought I am not as beautiful as my three younger sisters, I could say that I am blessed with a man who is not only handsome but also thoughtful and responsible husband and father to my children. From that point in my life, when I look at myself in the mirror, I am seeing something in me that’s more than what meets the eye.

More Than Enough

“Staring through the pouring rain
Trying to ease away my pain
Everything have gone in vain
I’m not going to love again

Then suddenly you came along
My heart can’t help but sing a song
You’re all that I asked God when I pray
You added color to my world that’s gray”

Have you ever been in a situation where you believed that you did everything you could, in your own power, to accomplish or to achieve something but you failed? Most of us do. The frustrations, disappointments, and the helplessness that we feel after what happened is oftentimes unbearable that we tend not to try anymore thinking that everything is a total waste of time.

Pessimistic people have this kind of attitude in dealing with failures. At one point in my life, I became like them. But with a sudden twist of fate (that’s what I thought before) or more accurately, with God’s divine intervention, I’ve met someone who turned my gloomy skies into a fiery firmament. From the looks of his eyes, smiles that always cause shivers in my spine, and touch that cause butterflies in my stomach, I found myself looking at life in a different perspective. He may not be perfect but he always try to be a better person for me, and what I really appreciate about him is his ability to disagree with me most of the time but at the end of it all he understands me. No matter what I do, how many times I fall, how many times my world turn into a mess, he would always be there for me. And not all people can find someone like him. I am truely blessed!

“Someday, somehow, your dreams will come true…it may not be the exact package you wanted but it’s what God gave you and it’s the best for you!”
